Breton galettes
When you hop out of your vehicle and wander through the medieval walls into the center of Saint-Malo, Brittany, it is quickly clear that there is no doubt what you are going to be eating for your next meal: Galettes & Crepes! Literally every other storefront is a Creperie and each follow a very similar, carefully honed formula of serving French Delice Galettes for your main snacking food. “Galettes” as they’re known in Brittany, however, are something special for many reasons.

In France there are many popular recipes from Bretagne. Palet breton is one of them. Palets Bretons are delicious, crumbly thick butter cookies which are found everywhere in France.
They may look ordinary, but their delicate crumbly texture, buttery taste and a delicate touch of saltiness make them very special.
Brittany is famous for its rich in butter sweets – usually made with salted butter – and one of those is a crumbly cookie, called “palet” in reference to its puck shape.
